My New Year's Eve

I've been meaning to work on this blog thing, but work and life and life and work has been a bit consuming as it does during the summer and now here we are, right before school is to begin. Ah the first day of school. A day of not doing the routine, but going over it. A day of many "getting to know you" days. I pause for a moment of singing.
I think I may have to break this out tomorrow and dance around the room!

Yes, I am still teaching and ALWAYS pursuing patience, because duh, I will ALWAYS need it! I struggle with the lack of communication between colleagues at my school, (even with this new fangled technology called EMAIL) but I think that is everywhere and in every job. I hope and pray hard that this year will be not as trying as last year- not in the teaching aspect, but just in life itself. To me, this is my New Year's Eve.

Tomorrow is a brand new start to a new year. I (hopefully) don't stay up all night, but go to bed early and wake up and celebrate this new, exciting year with friends and strangers and kids that I will come to love. Yes, I'm nervous, but it will be great. Tomorrow's the crazy day. Day 2 is the real kicker- when it really begins. Or maybe next Monday. You know what I mean- we have lots of fun and community and then we need to jump right in and continue learning and working as a community for the rest of our year until June.

It will be great. A fresh start. A new beginning and all those clichés. Positive thoughts... it will be great!
